EAD and independent contractor

Can I be an independent contractor (start working independently) after I receive my EAD? I have applied for concurrent filing of I485 and I140 afer my labor cleared last month.

Hi,

If you are the principle applicant for the I-140/I-485, I do not undestand how you are going to become indipendent contractor. You need to show the intention of joining the GC sponsoring employer as a permanent employee on getting the GC. One way of showing the said intention is to continue to work for the sponsoring employer. If you go indipendant, how are you going to satisfy INS about your intention to take up GC job ?

I think it is risky to do that.
