EAD and I-485 QUESTION

AP received in May'02

When I checked AVM, I found my EAD has been approved and they are in the process of sending me EAD card.

How much time it takes for INS to send me the EAD. When I will receive it?

Do I need to call INS to make sure my I-485 case has been assigned or not? How do I know that it has been assigned?

The recent trend is it takes around 60 days from EAD approval date to get the card.

About calling IIO to see if case is assigned - this depends on your luck - quite a few IIOs atleast recently are only giving generic answers - or have been asked not to give out the assigned date info. My suggestion is to call only if you know for sure that there are a number of people who applied after you have got their cards and you have not. Just my 2 cents.

Approval notice ~ EAD card

Can you get all EAD benifits once the EAD application is approved (i.e. you got already approval notice) or you have to wait until you get the EAD card?

Any experience is appreciated.

In four days

heard my EAD approval on June 30th, received the actual card on Aug 3. Hope this helps
