If gc is done as future employment through a company, when exactly one has to join the company and be under that company payroll.
A. When EAD is approved
B. When I-140 is approved
C. When I-485 is approved

If EAD is used before I-140 approval and if I-140 is denied due to any reason what are the consequences

C.

EAD is tied to 485 app. Both are cancelled upon 140 denial.

Technically, as you said, GC is for future job. So you should be on your sponsor's roll by the time your 485 is approved. But usually, USCIS wants to see some evidence of that. What better way to prove that than by joining your employer while your 485 is pending. It is especially true if you get an RFE.
