EAD and H1 Question

My WAC # is WAC-02-089-5xxxx, I have EAD. And my finger prints are done and the processing has been resumed from May 4th, 2002. I have seen approvals for WACs 02-040 etc. When can I expect mine (approx) ?

And my h1 will expire in feb 2003. My EAD is valid until May of 2003. May lawyer is asking me whether I am interested in applying the h1 extension. What is your advice? I have completed more than 5 years of my 6 years of h1 period. I think I might get may 6 more months of H1 from 6 years. When does 7th year extension come into picture? What am I supposed to do?

More than likely your 485 will be approved before feb 2003 and you wont have to apply for any extension. Since your EAD is valid till May 2003, I see no reason to file for H1 extenstion.

If an extention is needed, i would recommend to apply for EAD again, as after 90 days you can get an interim EAD if it does not get approved. H1 takes longer than that. If this is a personal lawyer, he might want to get more money from you under this pretext. If needed, apply for another EAD in Jan-Feb 2003. Till then don't worry. Good luck.
