Yes EAD has got most of the privileges similar to GC. You can work with any employer part time. If you are planning to work full time then your I 140 should be approved and 485 should be pending atleast for 6 months with the old employer with whom you had got your EAD. The new job must be similar with which your labor petition was filed so that you can use the law of portability

You can use your EAD to work for any employer eventhough your I140 and I485 is pending. To port the GC sponsorship to some other company, your I140 must be approved and I485 must be pending more than 180 days.
