EAD and extra part-time work on 1099

Hi,

I have received my EAD ( and AP ) one month back and have not received green card yet.
My labor and I140 is already approved.

I am still on H1B with my sponsoring company.

Recently, I received offer from other company to work part-time -- about 15 hours a week ( apart from my full-time 40 hours job ).

I have following questions regarding this situation.

- Is this possible ?
- Can I use my EAD to work extra part-time on 1099 ?
- Would it change my status from H1B to EAD on my full time job ?
- Is there any other ( or/and better ) way to handle it ?
- Any other issues with such situation ?

Any inputs/answers would be greatly appreciated.

1. Yes
2. Yes you can
3. Yes. You would lose H1 status and have to file a new I-9 form with your full time employer.
4. None that I am aware of.
5. Once you have EAD, you can work as many jobs as you like, in any field that you want. (You can get a part time job at McDonalds flipping burgers for example).

Regards

Only way to do this is to take money under the table, which a desi company would agree but definitely not an american company.
