EAD and AP renewal in advance

I and my family have our first AP Approval valid till 02/06.
We are planning a long stay in India-about 8 to 9 Months.
Is it possible to apply AP and EAD Renewals now itself so that we get a 1 year validity?

You can do that -- but (in NSC atleast) EAD periods "overlap"
So you would essentially "waste" some time in your EAD and AP.

I've also heard that they may send a RFE if you apply for AP this early ... something like we see that you already have a valid document blah blah .... but its not in every case - so maybe its trigerred by something else in conjunction with early applications ....

Otherwise its fine.
