EAD advice needed

I am an American Citizen, my husband is Scottish, we live in NY and we were married on 5/1/04. We have not filed anything yet due finances and a personal tragedy but we would like to start the process now. I have read up on it and know that we have to file I-130, I-485, I-864, I-693 and I-765. What is most important to us at the moment is my husband being able to work as soon as possible. How long does it usually take to get your EAD? We just found out that we are having a baby around June and he wants to make sure he is able to work long before then or we may have to go back to Scotland. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Processing time for the EAD is 45 to 60 days right now. If none is issued in 90 days you can go to the local USCIS office and obtain one. Good luck!
 
Thank you. I also should have mentioned that around Ap0ril 2006 we will be moving to Florida, will out moving affect the process?
 
If you file now you have good chances that your husband get the first part of his paperwok done (EAD and AP) before you move. Count 90 days from the date of your notice dates to get his authorization to work. Remember after you apply he can't get out of the country without an Advance Parole.
Inform USCIS about your new address on time and call the 800 to avoid further problems. In any case always a move can cause problems, but many people have been in the same situation so just inform on time and all that.
