EAD acknowledgement/receipt

My husband is on L1 Visa. I am on dependant L2 visa. I am living in california state. I filed form I-765 to INS Service Center in Laguna Niguel, CA on 19-August-2004 by post. Till now I did not get any acknowledgement or receipt for the application sent. They have not taken money(120$) from my bank account which I had sent as check to them for processing fee. I am in dark and I dont know what is happening, really doubt whether my application has reached INS service center.

Can any one help me out to find the status of my EAD. Your suggestions and experiences similar to this and how you came across this are most welcome.

This is weird ... its nearly impossible to inquire about your case without a receipt number (WACxxx).

If and when they cash your check, you should see the receipt number on the back of the check.

BTW, you must've sent your application using FedEx or something - right ?
Did you track and see if its been delivered at all ?? -- sounds dumb, but you never know !!

Am not sure what you can do if they've not even cashed it yet.....

Maybe you can issue a stop-payment on the current check and send a new application and new check ??
Not sure what problems you may run into if CIS eventually decides to cash your original check !!

Sorry -- wish I had something more concrete to tell you ....
 
The Fee itself is wrong. You are going to get a rejection letter for sure.
What you can do is re-apply EAD over online. That way you'll get the receipt number and you are safe. You can pay by using your credit card too.
