I am planning to use my EAD to switch company. My current EAD is upto 04/30/05. I am sending documents for renewal next week.

My question is if I don't get approved withing 04/30/05 what will happen?

Am I out of status? or Can I work If it is applied?

Please help me understand this issue.

--- nothing. wait till the ead is approved.

--- NO. your status depends on the pending adjustment of status application
or Can I work If it is applied?
NO. NEVER. you can work based on valid work authorization only. mere applying ead does not help. only h1 extension/transfer applicant can work merely by applying the petition for upto 240 days.

if you dont get the ead within the expiry of the current one then you can go to local uscis office and get interim ead provided you crossed 90 days from the date of filing the ead. you should stop working inbetween the days your current ead expire and the day you get the ead approved or interim ead.


Please help me understand this issue.
