Hi guys,

I filed my EAD renewal electronically today, and was able to
get through and get the print-out in the end with a EAC number.

Then I went to USCIS web to verify this number, and I was told
it is not available....Is this a bit odd, I thought the EAC number
should be available in the system right after I did E-file.

Do you think that the stystem is not updated for any of today's
e-file application?

I appreciate any advice/thoughts.

Thanks,

Check after 24 hours , you will see the status. I had the same issue when I e-filed, it showed up the next day on the BCIS system

Hi needgc123,

Thanks for your information. I was afraid that there could be
a system glitch....maybe I think/worry too much.

Hey,
I filed electronically on 01/16/04 and until today it shows "Your receipt is not found in the system". I called up the toll-free number and after a half hour wait, the lady said "yes sir, it is not showing up. why don't you check back after a couple of weeks?"

However, I have got the receipt notice by mail.

My bigger problem is the current EAD is expiring on 03/25 and I don't have any chance of getting it approved before that. I will not complete 90 days either by then.

My wife's visit to local INS office today also did not work. They said "Come back after 90 days".

I'm toying with the idea of visiting Vermont Service Center next week.

The_Mad,

you can get the IEAD before 90 days... You just have to show that it is emergency, like take the letter from your employer, which says that "if you do not get the IEAD you will be terminated", and requesting INS to issue you a IEAD... This worked in My case, I got IEAD after about 43-44 days from RD...

for more information check the "Interrim EAD story" thread ....

it less hope, but it worth trying...

I checked my status online this morning, now the EAC shows up
in the system...Thank you all for sharing the information/thoughts
with me.

The_Mad, Please keep us updated if you decide to go to
VSC office to get your EAD approval, it seems a good idea
especially for those who can't get EAD in time.

vscpig22 and M S-IL,

Thanks for your reply.

My wife visited the local (Albany,NY) INS office. It seems they are very clear on the 90 day rule. My wife tried explaining the story (she went with our 6 month old baby, as we did not have any option of leaving her anywhere) but they said "Come back on April 16th, we should be able to give you iEAD. We can't do anything now"

So the last chance is to visit VSC. I will update you guys about the outcome.
