Why half? I am thinking the opposite. ALL CASES will definitely be reviewed by the officers. Just because you are a dependant of a primary applicant - it does not mean that they will not thoroughly review your application. I tend to think that dependent applications will be scrutinized even more. For example: they will check if the marriage is legal, if the marriage certificate is acceptable, if the spouse's presence in the US is legal, etc.. etc...

To me it's extra work for the officers.
