Hello to all,
I have been in the US for almost 9 years and have changed 5 different types of visa statuses and currently I am in E2 visa - status only, I have never left the country. I am getting a little tired of changing statuses every two or three years and would like to get a green card. I poses a MS degree from a US university and I am currently self employed (a year and two months). I would like to know if anyone knows a way on how to petition myself, or even do any other type of visa that can lead to a green card. I did try the lottery for 12 years - NO LUCK there!!! All opinions and experiences welcome.
Thank you!

mirinex,
sorry to say but there are no gc avenues in your type of case except the dv lottery.
i am also on e2 but i hear that part of the immigration reform movement is to give e2'rs a road to permanent residency. a bill has been tabled and supported by some senators. but it is part of the entire immigration reform package that obama has to review. you can read more about it here ...
http://www.e2reform.org/?page_id=47
and some updates here ...

don't forget to sign the petition while at the e2reform website.
so the best hope is to pray that they pass the immi reform bill.
if you have a lot of funds to invest you can try the eb5 route.
other than eb5 and the lottery, i presume you don't have siblings here, i don't know of any other ways.
good luck
