E2 - employer holding me to ransom

Hi All
I have an E2 visa which was granted to the company I work for and not me as an individual. I was granted my E2 as an executive of the UK company I worked for when they bought this US business for $20m. My visa issuing date was 11th May 2006 and it’s for 5 years. Im settling down here and would like to convert to green card but my employer has said he won’t sponsor me because I could leave him. :(

What can I do any suggestions? I get paid here, have a contract etc. Can I apply for the I140 myself? Do I have any options here or am I stuck.

Anyone?????
 
This is often a problem that companies must deal with. Why don't you offer to sign an Employment Contract. Depending on which state you are in, it may or may not be enforced. You should consult with your lawyer prior to signing anything. This could put your employer at ease.
