All,

I e-filed for EAD extension and checked the status of our case online with the receipt number I got as confirmation while submitting the application online.

Status says " We mailed you a receipt with information about processing". Does BCIS send us any receipt by US mail for e-filed cases as we get the confirmation with the receipt number while submitting the application online itself? I did not receive any receipt notice by mail even after 15 days.

Anyone who did e-filing please respond.

I have e-filed EAD for myself and for my wife on the same day.
I got the notice after 1 week and my wife got after 2 weeks.

You should get a receipt notice anytime now

...and don't forget to called the "NOTORIOUS" BCIS Customer Service

Am sure you have already done this but don't forget to call those bureaucratic drones at BCIS Customer Service to make an appointment for fingerprinting and ADIT photto. Typically, you can go to the appointment at ASC the day after you call them

I got the receipt number by US mail finally. It took 16 days(I just mentioned this for anyone who is waiting)

Thanks guys

E-File vs Manual EAD

Its good.. u finally got reciept from them.

I also decided to go with E-File EAD, but when I see and read RFE issues (I am not scaring u), so I went with regualr mail process.

this was renewal case. first EAD I got when I-140 was pending. so this time I was sure they would be sending RFE's, about pending 485 and approval of I-140 plus SR ..blah blah,
with RFE Once I had bad experience that was lost in mail because they miss typed the address when they sent RFE. and I waited two painful months.

One of my conceren was to go to local office this mean took whole one day off, and get appointment before.

I am not sure but these concerns made me to go with manual process and send all docs once and ofcourse Attorney fees was extra, even I am computer guy and love to go with E-File option.

please update and share with us ur experience with E-File of EAD.

would help lot of ppl. who haven't decide which way to go.

Yeah, I wish I were able to send out my I-485 application sooner. I had two unfortunate mishaps in preparing the document, and they delayed the action

1) The Japanese Embassy did not accept my first copy of the Domicile Registry to issue a confirmation of my birth in English because the Domicile Registry contained the names of my entire family members, and they did not like that. (In Japan, the government do not issue a birth certificate. Instead, your name gets recorded in Domicile Registry along with your family members once you are born). I had my sister in Japan resend another copy of the Registry with just my name and DOB on it, and that took a while.

2) Once I-485 was prepared, my company's immigration attorney had sent to our HR Department for my signature. There, a moron somehow determined that it required HIS signature instead of MINE. Upon realizing that he signed MY application and sent it to the attorney, I immediately contacted the attorney to resend another I-485 to MY HOUSE for MY signature.

Hope these answer your questions. Cross your fingers for me, as I am hoping for your quick approval.
