Hi Gurus ,

I applied for AP renewal but I am little bit confused about photos.

in the instructions below there is a note saying Digital Photos not accepted .

http://uscis.gov/graphics/formsfee/...photo_photo.htm

I clicked my photos at costco . Today I checked with costco guy and asked them are they digital . He said they are digital ...

I am bit confused now . Do I need to take one more set of photos some where else like polaraid ??
Please let me know what you think ?
Thanks,
Kinku

Go to US Post Office, they have some kind of not digital passport phots, costs $15 for 2 photos. They use peel and flip filim, just like polaried. Yet I need to send my applications, I have asked them several times to make sure what they are giving us is not a DIGITAL photograhs, they have confirmed it is not digital photos.

I got an RFE for photos. I did not know that its because of Digital photos. I have sent again Digital photos and my AP was denied. Luckly I did not have to worry about it anymore as my 485 was approved in the mean time.

From the FAQs at travel.state.gov

May photos be taken with a digital camera?
If the digital camera has sufficient resolution — capable of capturing and storing images with 1 million pixels (megapixels) or more — it can be used to take the photos. However, printing of digital images is best done by professional photography processing labs because many off-the-shelf digital printers cannot achieve the image-quality required for passport and visa photographs. In any case, the image-quality criteria, described on this website, must be met in the submitted conventional film photo and/or the digital image printed photo.

Note: If you feel better taking one more sets of photos, go for it. Local Walmart or Kinko's will do it for you and will cost only 10 or 12 bucks.

Picture people also doing non digital...
i had my spouse pictures taken with picturepeople after RFE...not sure if they are glosssy or mat...any idea or knowledge that pictures taken @ picturepeople are accepted for AP?

Digital Photos

I found this my myself with experience. The only place I found who does the regular Poloroid Photos are Walgreens..

I applied my EAD and AP with the same set of picutres, My EAD got approved but I got an RFE for AP for Picutres.

So bottom line is take picutres from any place(prefred Picture People) and send them, If you get RFE take the bill and the RFE to the same place and they will take one more set of pictures for free.

I guess Photos taken at AAA are also valid. Those are not digital and they take photos according to INS requrements.
Thanks.
