My hubby and I were married between sending the first application, and actually getting the interview. If you are not married before your interview you will have to go through a long involved process to bring over your partner.

Many couples get married after they receive the NL. It's advisable that you do that soon and that you send the changed forms for you and a form for your wife to KCC right afterwards (and I think the marriage certificate is also required). As neena59 said: you should definitely marry BEFORE the interview.

Hi Neena

I guess you may able to help me directly as my interview is schedule in Sydney. What form do I need to fill out for my wife before going for interview? Do I need to notify the KCC or Consulate in Sydney?

Could you please tell me step by step what you have done after receiving the 1st notification letter? Of course we will provide the marriage certificate :D.

What other documents and steps we need to do to notify the change.

Thank you

I emailed KCC to ask their advice. This is their response:

Thank you for your inquiry.

The following should be sent to KCC to begin the processing of your case:

· DSP 122 completed for the principal applicant
· DS 230 Part I completed for all family members applying for a Diversity Visa
· DS 230 Part II completed for all family members applying for a Diversity Visa
·One (1) passport size full face photograph for each family member applying for a Diversity Visa

Any additional documents may be sent to KCC with your forms, or you may take those with you to the DV interview appointment.

Fiancées or common law spouses cannot be listed as a beneficiary on DV cases.
Once you are legally married, you may add your spouse to the case.

To add a spouse, please submit the following to KCC once you are married:

· Copy of marriage certificate with English translation
· Forms DS 230 Part I & II for spouse
· Updated DS 230 Part I for the principal applicant
· Passport style photo of the spouse

If you need additional copies of the forms, photocopies are acceptable or you may download them at http://www.travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/forms/forms_1342.html.
