DV2007 - Can I choose which consulate to go to?

Hi Guys,

My wife has won the DV2007 with a case number of AS000050XX. I have filled in and sent off the application forms yesterday but after reading this forum, I came across a few questions:

1) On the NL it says the Post: Ankara but we live in the UK. I'm from Iran and we’ve entered the UK as current resident country in the lottery registration. On DSP-122 form I’ve chosen US Embassy, London to process our case. Have I made a mistake? Do I need to be worried about this? :confused:

2) Do we have any chance of getting interview and GC by having this high case number?

I appreciate your help.
 
1) I am not positive on that, but I would have said you can do it in London.
I might be wrong on that, so listen to what other experienced people will say.

2) For your region, your number is not low, but it's not high either. Based on the last 3 DVs ( 04, 05 and 06 ), your number would probably become current around March 07.

As you live in the UK, you will most likely need a police certificate from Turkey and the UK. Make sure these are not lengthy procedures by gathering info now.
 
Many thanks Catseyes. Do you think I'd better contact the KCC and ask them regarding the place of consulate? Or Could I send a second form correcting that issue?
 
Hopefully, you will get other replies from experienced people.

But, yes, you can contact KCC. I have always been pleased by the way I was treated when I was calling. You can expect to have your questions answered.
