DV2007 and CP in Ukraine

Got the letter last week with 20xx priority number for EU. As my wife and I just filed employment based I-485s (enough hassles to deal with CIS), we thing to choose the CP, and go back to Ukraine for the interview.

Correct me if I'm wrong, my wife will interview together with me in Ukraine, and doesn't need to go back to her own country (Armenia) for a separate interview. Is this right?

Also, when does the interview get scheduled, whenever a visa becomes available in October, or right after Kentucky gets back and processes our forms?

Anybody with the interview experience at Ukraine's consulate?
Thanks.

I am not sure if CP would be a better option for you. Usually, if a person is in States, he/she chooses AOS.
You're right. She doesn't have to go to Armenia for a separate interview. If you are together wherever you choose to have your interview, you would go to the interview together.
Your interview will be scheduled when your number becomes current. Based on last year data it would be sometime in October.

similar situation
I-485 filed; won GC; Eu17XX; chose CP in Moscow;for more detail, read my other posts; you and wife can only do CP in the country of whoever won. if you did- then ukrain.

Sorry, but that's not true.
Virsavo said he was in the US, but did CP in Moscow. I was F1, I chose CP.
And many other friends of mine from here or different forums.

The reason is simple : if one doesn't mind to take 2 weeks off ( for medical exam + interview )and pay for the plane to go back home, then CP is a good choice as the procedure is usually faster. That's especially true if your number is high : in this case, going for AOS would be very risky as the likelyhood for the name check to be cleared before Sept 30th would be low.

Anyway, it depends on strictly on the person. We can give advice and relate our own experience, but still YOU will have to decide for yourself.

In your case, your number is very low for EU, so AOS would not be that risky because you should have plenty of time. However make sure you have a legal status in the US : AOS means Adjustment of Status, so you have to have a status when filing your application.

I said "usually", which does not mean "always". Rather, it means "most of the time". I should have added "especially, with a low case number like yours".
