I have recently been notified of being selected for further processing in the Diversity Visa (DV2006 Porgram). I have submitted my application forms for the DV program, but have not received notification of an interview date yet.
I April this year (before winning noticification for DV2006) I applied for a B1/B2 visitors visa to visit family in the US in September.
My question is this - does filing for an immigrant visa under the DV program in any way affect plans to visit the US as a vistor? In other words, is filing a DV application grounds for not being allowed entry into the US on my existing B1/B2 visa? I do not wish to jeopardize my DV application in any way. My planned stay in the US in September is for short duration of two weeks. I leave my wife behind in my home country and have to return to my job after my two-week leave period.
Any advice that you may have will be much appreciated
