Hello all,

Has anyone applied for their DV residency solely on work experience?
If so please can you share what documents you presented at your interview and what questions you were asked pertaining to your work experience.

If anyone can shed any light on this I would appreciate it.

Cheers and good luck to all.

Yes it has been done and a successful experience was documented in the thread below.

Thanks for that Britsimon.
I am a little concerned as the companies i have worked for do not give out letters. However I was just made redundant and was issued with a letter stating my occupation. Im wondering if the letter with my Resume and training certs will satisfy?

Do you have any thoughts?

Qualifying by work experience is not black and white. You have to make a case and the case has to be convincing enough to allow the CO to not question it. So, the type and level of work are important, the length of experience and obviously what documentation you can obtain. Things like job offer letters, job descriptions, affidavits from co-workers and bosses are all good. Obviously that can sometimes be harder to obtain - so you have to accept that can weaken your case. For sure, wandering in to the interview armed with a resume and a couple of certificates will not work. You're going to need a better prepared case that that!
Also, depending on your case number it might be a while before your interview, so getting back into similar employment could be important.

Thank you again,
Im not planning on wandering anywhere. I am a professional and conduct myself as such.
I have multiple training certificates nationally recognized, a letter stating my occupation as a supervisor in my field and a comprehensive resume.
As far as getting co workers to see a lawyer to sign an affidavit...... I cant see that happening. Its looking like I am pretty much screwed due to lack of evidence which is a shame. I have a low number OCxxxxxxxx4xx so not a lot of time.

Well you should decide if it is worth risking a bit of time and money, and if so, give it a go. I'm gonna edit your exact number out of your post for privacy.
