dv with high case number from Bangladesh

My case no is higher than 2008AS00010000. May be my interview schedule is on September. But this year the september schedule for dv2007 was cancelled due to unavailablilty of visa. So can i expect to get a interview? What is the chances? My letter start with congratulation and I delivered my 1st nl(which i got last week of April) in the middle of June. Would u please share your opinions?

Please explain what you mean by

If you had that case number for DV-2007 you should have had a chance of an interview.
Where have you gotten information about DV schedule cancellation??? I have never hear of anything like this. Statements like that will stress and worry people on this forum, so make sure you have a factual basis for making it, and tell us what that is.

Also Please state what country your from too. Your case number is useless with out knowing your country.

1. Sorry for my incomplete information, but i think I have already mentioned in my title that I am from Bangladesh. and my case no is greater than 2008AS00010000.
2. I do not have a case no of DV 2007, i have just got the information from my country's website that (http://dhaka.usembassy.gov/) september schedule for dv2007 was cancelled due to unavailablilty of visa regarding Bangladesh.

"DV Interview Cancellation

The United States Embassy in Dhaka sincerely regrets to inform that all new diversity visa (DV) interviews scheduled for the month of September 2007 are now cancelled "

Thanks for the sahring your views friends. I like to read more information regarding my chances.

The information as stated in the website is heart breaking. All affected should please take heart and move on with life.
 
Reason would be bangladesh country quota was met.

We all know that no country can receive more than 7% of 50,000 visas. therefore before september, Most probably bangldesh exceeded the max. quota.
 
Dear sumon,
I am also from Bangladesh. Do'nt worry my dear. You will be called for the interview Inshallah by Aug-Sep, 2008. This year september case is not an usal case, this is simply an exception. So far as I know case number higher than you got DV visa previously. So don't worry and be happy...

I m from bangladesh too. do not worry about it just wait and see what happened. this year it is going more quicker than 2007 so. you may also get interview date in august or even july.After all i see in DV2008 so many winner got higher case from several country.

Thanks for the clarification. That is terrible, just goes to show that the visa bulletins may give one story but on the ground in the embassies the story is totally different. From an initial look at the visa bulletin it seems as though all people in AS got a chance of an interview, and then they stopped interviewing people in Bangladesh in sept!! there is also some other discussion on another thread about cut offs not being as high as they seemed.

It just all goes to show that this DV system is unreliable and cant be taken for granted. I Am going to go about my life as though I had not won it, if I get the GC then great, if not then its not to be. But I am hopeful, and suman619747, I am sure you will get a chance at yours!! :
 
thanks you all for the support, yes, there is nothing to do but wait and see, we can just discuss to increase our strength to the possibility but nothing is in our hand. It is true if we wish good luck for ourselves it will somehow brings bad luck for others. the irony is that if other fails then I will pass.

My case no is AS12XXX, so dont be so hopeless. I think this year they r doing it faster than previous years. Even I know one of my doctor cousin was called earlier fr interview though he had his original interview date on 30th SEPT. And he is from- u guess- BANGLADESH!! So if u r a potent immigrant for them, they may call u earlier too. Lets hope fr the best!!!!
 
yes. i m hoping and try coping with luck, but sometimes it's choping in my mind if my letter get no ping from KCC.
