Hi,

I am a DV Loterry selectee, I have encountered some posts on internet about people struggling in the interview when they do not have sponsors in the USA... I am in same position at the moment, is there any way out of this? Apart from finding a sponsor...

Thank you all for your time and sorry for asking so many questions :o

Perhaps you could enlighten us on which site(s) these people are posting on.So far according to the threads that I've read so far(this site),it it not a requirement but it is safer to have one so that ur visa issuance isn't delayed due to it.(I ought to think that the sponsor u r referring to is the person ur are going to stay with in the US when u land).

You do not need a sponsor in the US as a must. Some one from your home country can also sponsor you. You need to get for example a land title or log book plus a bank statement. The bank statement or combination of statement and land title or log book should be equal to or above the poverty bracket for which you belong (google poverty guidelines 2012). Your bracket depends on how many people you are. The sponsor should write to the Consular stating that he will sponsor your trip and your living expenses while you are in the US.
