DV-Lottery winner...Need some advice

Hello i've been selected for further processing in DV-Lottery for 2014. Before this, in February i applied for work and travel program. I have to cancel my J1 application cause of some family issues, and when i asked my sponsors they freaked me out. I dunno if this is true, but will my withdrawal of J1 application influence in my DV-lottery in the future?

Thank you very much

Sincerely Enion

Answer repeated here in case you miss it from the other thread.

I don't think so. The DVlottery application (is progressed beyond selection) shows intent to immigrate to the US - so that can affect some types of visas such as J1, but that is the reverse of your case, and no I can't see how the withdrawn J1 can affect you.

I don't expect the withdrawing to be troublesome, but applying for a non-immigrant visa could be (it seems that you are past that point).

If you receive a non-immigrant visa while having an intention of immigration, it might be considered fraudulent and can potentially harm your DV case. So it's not advisable to apply for any non-immigrant benefits in the 90 days prior to showing an intent for immigration (e.g. submitting DSP-122, etc.). 90 days seems safe enough.
