dv lottery educational requirements

I have completed a School Certificate in Australia (10 years of school) as opposed to a High School Certificate which is a 12 year course of study, am I eligible with that level of education to enter the dv lottery?
I have done alot of study that doesn't yield degrees just certificates, and my job training (artist) doesn't even rate on the job zone on the Onet website.
Is there any hope?

Hi Froggo,
The DV instructions state that u should complete a minimum of 12 years of primary and high schools if u like to play the lottery based on educational qualification. The consulates are very strict on this issue. If you also don't have the job qualification, I am afraid it might not be useful to play it as u may lose money and time. Better u complete the remaining two years of high school and try then after. Good luck.

If in Australia your School Certificate is the equivalent of a High School Certificate and this can be proven with the necessary documents then you should go ahead and apply.
Otherwise I would suggest you make arrangements to take the necessary exams that high school students take. This would be evidence that you have attained the educational level equivalent to that of high school leavers. You may not be able to pull this off for this year's lottery but this is important if you intend to apply for the DV lottery each year from now on.
