DV CP is so simple process that if you messed up something (like some of mistakes done in electronic submission for DV, lies about marriage, children, eligibility country etc.) or you have disqualifying criminal record or disease no lawyer can help you.
Otherwise you just need to fill two forms send them to KCC with two pics., then wait, wait (also be smart and prepare all your docs. in time especially police cert. if you have lived in different countries) wait, then show on date/time on interview and wait some days for the passports and visas to come by post.
ps. AOS is completely unknown process for me so people doing it could decide whether they need lawyer or no (however some regret a lot because of very, very wrong advices e.g. doing AOS with high CN instead CP).
