DV Applicability question

Hi guys, I have a question and was wondering if somebody could give me some useful information.

If a person has overstayed, once in their lifetime, a tourist visa for a country other than the U.S. would they still be applicable to apply for the DV lottery and need to provide the police certificates for the country in which they overstayed their tourist visa (stay was longer than 6 months)?

Or would this mean the person is automatically not eligible to apply for the DV lottery?

Thanks for any information

Hi Drayah,

One need to submit a police clearance in case a person stayed in a country for 1 year or more.It seems you have not....you will be fine to apply and if selected wont be disqualified due to this reason.

I hope this help....but dont count me on this that's what I think abt. it.

Draya, unless instructions have changed, in which case refer to your NL, you need to provide Police Certificates for each country you have lived in for at least SIX -6 months since the age of 16. They are concerned with criminal records so having overstayed a visa shouldn't be part of it, it depends on what country you are talking about. If you are doing AOS then you don't need to provide PCs anyway. Only for CP.
