Hey i thought I would start a thread for any Aussies that have applied for the DV2015. the countdown is well and truly ON :D

Bit of blatant self-promotion, but I'm an Aussie who made it through DV2014 pretty early and easily, and now I'm living in Maine. My experience is detailed on the blog linked in my sig - www.crawfinusa.com.

Good luck, and make sure you read the Aussie DV2013 and 2014 threads from start to finish, they have a lot of great information within.

hey crawf33 you mean you are already done and settled after the dv 2014?how is Maine compared to Brisbane which I assume is where you were from?I have 6 month + of waiting before I even begin the process so any advice is welcome

Maine and Brisbane couldn't be more different, but if I wanted the same thing I wouldn't have moved!

My advice is: be patient. Don't hang your whole life on the assumption that you'll get a green card, and don't make it your only plan if immigrating is what you really want to do- explore other options too. You've got months to wait; if you spend it agonizing about whether or not you'll win, you'll drive yourself crazy.

Hey mate, I can find the 2014 winners thread, but I cant find the 2013. can you post a link please?

I will always be amazed about Aussies moving to the states... I mean you are crime free, beautifull climate, few illegal immigration... You have it all good over there

Hi!

My name is Matthew. I'm a young Aussie who applied for DV 2015. This will be my second year applying. Hoping that this is my year!

Good Luck Matt I was lucky enough to be selected this year, but seeing as how my number is in the 2k range I figured to be on the safe side I would apply again.

Fingers cross for you Matt, and thinking of all the Aussies with the high numbers!

Third year trying.

Q

DV2015 will be the 12th year applying for me. Got selected in DV2014 but with a very high case number.

Thank you mijoro and Qewty! I wish you both the very best!

Wow, 12 years is a very long time neko83. It makes me wonder if I will ever get selected, given that the DV lottery only remains alive due to a temporary stalemate in Washington. It is my dream to live and work in the USA, so I find it hard to read stories like yours. I think that DV 2015 is my last, best chance to get a green card. I hope you get interviewed for your winning DV 2014 entry.

I hope we all get a green card!

wow loving these replies, reading these threads gives me hope and security knowing there are heaps of us out there that have applied.
i wish us ALL the very best....

Hello TransientA and all other Aussies!
Good thinking starting a thread.
I'm 23 and this is my 2nd year applying. I pray for a positive outcome in May! I would head off to the south, whether it be Tennessee, North Carolina or even Louisiana. It is my dream to live in the south! I'm actually about to fly off in March, next month to live in Nashville on the J1 visa. I can stay a maximum 14 months so life would be perfect if I were drawn in May of this year :)

Just out of curosity where would all of you Aussie's move to if you were selected?

and Crawf33 - stories like yours inspire me so much. To think that someone just like is successfully living in Maine thanks to the DV win. Blows my mind, in a good way, Congrats! I pray its me too in the near future :)

Hi AJ!

Good to hear from you again! This is also my second year applying! I just came back from the USA; I stayed in NYC for 10 days and Nashville for 8 days! I loved Nashville, although if I get selected I think I will be heading to NYC!!!

I hope you have a great time living in Nashville! I loved it there! Make sure you visit Ruby Falls in Chattanooga one day!

Hi Matt and other Aussie entrants. I've entered, yet again. And yes, you read my signature right. Been in the game for 16 years and still waiting for a winning entry. I skipped entering a couple of years, but keep playing on the off-chance I'll one day get my green card.

At least this is cheaper than entering gold lotto!

In the meantime, I'm working on getting another E3 visa. This one will be my 3rd.

Glad to hear it bud. I've been extremely lucky and it's still surreal to me every day that I'm here and not on holidays. It's also fun to be in a smaller town where people get to know your name and face. Good luck!
