I am a winner of DV 2012 and filed as "single" person because I am not married at the time I applied. But I do have a boyfriend who has a long-term relationship with me. We have lived together for 4 years, just not legally married. We currently in the US and holding F-1 Visa. I was notified via e-mail almost my last minutes (It will end by Sep.) that I won the lottery. I have followed all of the process and paid all of the fees since July 13th 2012. I already received the notify letter schedule for Bio metric on 29th August. Here is my questions:
Me and my boyfriend get married right after I filed all paper document as a single person. I admitted that at that time, I am quite confused with the process. Besides, we were busy with our study. After I sent out all of the document, we consulted many people and just knew that I could file green card for my bf too, otherwise I need to send the petition for him and wait around two years or more! I went to USCIS and asked the lady, she said we just sent additional document for my bf. But it has been almost two weeks now and I haven't got any feedback from USCIS. I am so worried because it is near time. The document for my bf we sent is I-485, g-325a, $330 fee, $1050 fee, medical examination and print out the letter proved as DV 2012 lotto winner (the one with bar code and case no.). However, we didn't send anything to KCC for my bf. Do I need to send anything for my bf case to KCC anymore (For my case, I did send DS 230 and DSP 122 to KCC stated that I need to adjust status within the US)? The lady said because we are already in the State. We need to contact USCIS only from now on. She is also the one who told us that we can get married now and sent additional document in order to file together. But now, I haven't got any response which makes me feel like we miss something in the process.
Does anybody have any idea for my case?
