DV 2012 - Eligibility through spouse - Can we both file 2 separate applications ?

In my case , i am not eligible for DV2012 but my spouse was born in one of eligible countries

Can we file in 2 applications ? like
1) I apply and add my spouse into application making me eligible as she is eligible
2) My spouse applies and mentions me as her husband on application, as she is born in eligible country ,..and once she gets visa i would also get eligible.

I have heard we both can apply as 2 separate applications but both should mention each other as family members/spouse on their application that would double the chances.

Also if I apply and i want to mention that I am eligible through my spouse , where would I have to mention that and how ?

In section of Country if eligibility do I need to write up my wife's country ( eligible country) or my country, If I enter my wife's country how they will come to know..it is not mine but it is my wife's birth country and i mentioned it so that i will be eligible to apply.

Please help.....

yes you can both apply. You can claim chargeability to her native country which is eligible. There are 2 questions that ask
1. the country of chargeability and
2. how do you claim that chargeability whether it's through birth or marriage in your case it would be marriage.
