DV- 2012 and DV - 2013

Today I was checking my DV - 2013 entries again with a hope to be selected.Later when I checked my DV - 2012 entry I found something interesting and got the same message as it is for DV 2013 here it is.

DV-2013 ENTRY STATUS
Based on the information provided, the Entry HAS NOT BEEN SELECTED for further processing for the Electronic Diversity Visa program at this time. More entries will be selected in early October 2012, so please keep your confirmation information until at least that time.

Please verify that you have entered all information correctly. You may re-check the Entry status by clicking on the ESC Home Page link below.

How can it be possible that an entry for DV-2012 will be selected in early october 2012 while it is about to finish in September 2012.

Today I was checking my DV - 2013 entries again with a hope to be selected.Later when I checked my DV - 2012 entry I found something interesting and got the same message as it is for DV 2013 here it is.

How can it be possible that an entry for DV-2012 will be selected in early october 2012 while it is about to finish in September 2012.

I'm guessing it's a mistake. If what you say is correct, the DoS has probably rolled out a generic "NOT SELECTED" message to unucky applicants with the only variables being the dates, which obviously do not fit because it's impossible (as you pointed out) for more DV-2012 selectees to be selected on 1 October 2012 when the fiscal year for that lottery ends in September. Unfortunately it's silly things like this that add to the confusion.

If you don't mind, could you take a screen-shot of the DV-2012 message and post it please?

I got the same message too when i checked my DV2012 and DV2013 entries

I got the exact same NOT SELECTED message for DV2012 when i decided to check the entries as the DV2013 including the note about keeping the confirmation until Oct.
I just put it down to their mistake as they are probably using the same templates to display the message
