DV 2009 Visa

Hi,

My dad just received the notification for being selected to apply the DV visa 2009.

However, he doesn't have high school education and we are planning to use his work experience to fulfill the basic requirements. He runs a wholesale business and we are wondering how to do we fill out question 7 on DSP 122? Are there any more documentations that we need?

Does anyone of you happen to know of any attorney that practice US immigration laws in Malaysia?

hi Steve,

I won DV 2008. I m from Malaysia and I presume u are from Malaysia too.

I dont recall any immigration lawyer in Malaysia has any knowledge on US immigration. I just follow the procedures in the notification letter as I met the education and working experience and also the "public charge".

It's kind of tough if you wanna proof your father qualifying for the working experience. You can check the online website.


Has your father completed secondary school? just a passing with Grade 3 in SPM or Certificate of Ordinary education etc (i dont know what they called it in the 60s or 70s) will meet the requirement. I advise you to get the school leaving certificate from your father's secondary school.

For the job requirements, your father must show he has demonstrated managerial skills. It is better to have both education and working experience requirements (in case, for the interview.)

I have replied on behalf of my father as well for DV 2009. I am not sure whether he has received the notification as now I am in USA.

I figured it would be hard to get someone in Malaysia to help. I am looking for someone here instead.
He received the notification on April 17th and the case no is AS00004XXX.
