DV 2009 Notification on April 21. CN#AS00011xxx

I just received the package with forms from Kentucky yesterday. My case number is AS00011xxx which appears a little high to me. Does anybody know how high of a chance for me to get the card in the end with a CN like this?

It'd be horrible to go thru this and end up with nothing.

And besides sending the forms back, is there anything I should/could do at the present moment?

I think your Case Number is OK.

For DV-2008, the current of CN this month is 9500. In May is 10500.
Your case may be current between July to September.
You should complete form quickly as possible.

The date on the letter was April 10. The letter was postmarked April 17. And I got it on April 21. I notice that in the previous years my number would be scheduled for September at the latest. Would it be too late for a CP in September?

Nah, u best bet is CP. if your number does become current, u have a very good chance of getting the visa thru CP. Rule AOS totally out

I don't think you need to consider your CN that high. Mine is AS00012XXX and I think it is okay, for this year. It seems that KCC has changed the structure for CNs or the process to generate CN because of couple reasons. First, our NL is dated in April, which is the first month of processing NL (quite early I believe). Second reason - I have seen CN as high as AS00038XXX with my own eyes. Comparing this number with all previous years, this number is wayyyyyyyy too high and it doesn't hold any chance at all. But think about this, why would KCC process NL that don't even have any chance at all for the CN to be current? This makes me believe that our CN (12XXX) has a very good chance and it might even be processed by early 2009 considering we are within the First half (or may be within first quarter) of the total CNs for Asia region..
