I am trying to figure out how long I should plan to stay in Naples, Italy, for the interview process.
Is anyone here from Italy and had the interview in Naples lately?
My interview day is on a Friday, in June.:D

Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

Hey tori23sei23, are u Italian too?
I saw that link, and I the last interview in the Taccuino was very helpful.
DO you know if you can pay with an American credit card at the consulate? o do you need cash?

Pollon I sent you an email to the email address you gave me, let me know if that helped.

Hi tori23sei23, I tried to connect to the link you gave, but it won't upload the page... weird!

ciao

I had my interview in Naples in February. The way it works is that you have the medical exams the day before at the Istituto Varelli (on a Thursday) and then you have the interview at the consulate on Friday morning. When I went to the interview on Friday there were some people who had missed the medical exams and were sent back.

After the interview at the consulate they will ask you to come back I think it was at 5:00 PM but it could have been 4:00 PM and they will give you the passport back with the temporary green card. You will need to enter the US within 6 months.

The people at the consulate are extremely nice.

Buona fortuna!!!

interviw in naples for dv 2008

Ciao tiger GC and congratulations on your GC! I'll have my interview at the end of June and I have a few questions I hope you won't mind answering.

1) for the medicals we need to bring all our vaccination records right? To get them do I have to request them at USL or is it enough going to my doctor's?
2) I was told we don't need to translate our docs like birth certificates, college degrees high school diploma. do you confilm? I thought the translation was necessary no mater what.
3)Do you have any suggestion on where to stay in Naples for those 2 days?

This is it for now, I hope you won't mind me to write you if some other questions come up on the way.

ciao and good luck to everybody!

interview Naples

Hi Pollon,

1) You are right you need the vaccination records. On how to get a copy of that I am not sure. My parents had kept the original vaccination records.

2) If you have documents in either Italian or English you do not need any translation.

3) I stayed in the central station area. The hotels are cheaper there. You can use orbits or edreams to find a place.

Feel free to contact me if you have any other questions.

Hey TigerGC, I have 2 questions for you:
1- Did they ask you about the Hib vaccination? DId you take there or had it done before going there?
2- Is it possible to pay with a credit card (american) at the consulate or they want cash (dollar or Euro).
Thanks, and it great to have someone who just had the interview there.

I'll come to Italy in June for my interview, currently living in Chicago.

Thanks..

Medicals in Naples DV 2008

Ciao, this is a message for those Italians who already did their medicals .I called the Istituto Varelli in Naples today to have some more detailed info on the docs to bring, because I am not sure how many other vaccinations I need to integrate the ones iI already have. I need to know if it's possiboe to get the missing ones there the day of the medicals,if i need to do my antibody tests before hand as proof of the illnesses i already had, but they were very unavailable, told me that they have no clue and that I have to refer to the consulate. I know that calling the consulate asking abt the medicals won't go anywhere, so I don't know how to move.

Can anybody give me some hints? Grazie!!

Wow, that's very unfriendly of that institute! You can check which immunizations are necessary on this document: http://www.usembassy.org.uk/cons_new/visa/forms/Vachart.pdf
If no one from Italy answers your question, I would advise you to go to your usual doctor to get all the missing immunizations and the necessary antibody tests done. This way you're on the save side. In addition: your health insurance might cover the immunizations if you get them done from your normal doctor but they won't do that if you get them done during the medical.

hey Pollon, I had the antibody titer done to confirm I have been vaccinated, or I am immune (it is not really a proof of vaccination, but at least says you are not contagious any longer since you already have the antibody) for a few of the required one because I did not have the records of my vaccination available.
To get the titer you have to ask your doctor to prescribe you the test, or you can go to a private blood test center and have it done (the first one I think it's cheaper).

Do you have any clue if you can pay with credit card at the consulate or do you need cash?

Interview questions

Hi Pollon,

My sister lives in Verona, Italy. Her number is current for the month of August. We were under the impression that she will have the interview in Milan but it turned out that all immigrants visas are processed in Naples. Do you happen to have the contact number for the instituto Varelli because she wanted to make sure she brings all the documents and avoid any miscommunication. I would appreciate it if I can get the number and any other information about the interview process there in Naples. Thank you.

hallo, Nahoule, thi is the number of the istituto varelli in napoli: 081/767.22.02
I tried to call them back then to ask some info, but honestly they weren't so available. I hope you guys can get all the info you need. Good luck for now. ciao

Pollon: Thank you for the info

Pollon,

I appreciate your fast reply. I am very nervous for my sister because she doesn't have any immunization records but she went to the doctor and took a blood sample to see what shots she should take or not. Thank you again for your timely help. Good luck with your interview.

yes, that's exactly the same thing I did for myself. She should be ok with that. when is your sister having the medicals and interview?

Hi Pollon,

Sorry for not answering earlier. My sister has her interview on the 1st of August but she still doesn't know about the medical. I guess she has to wait for the second letter or call the consulate in Naples to know. but I guess according to the blogs, it will be the day before. Her Interview is on a Friday, so her medical will be held on Thursday, I guess.

Hi Pollon, my CN is current for september and my interview is on the 26th of september.

Well, is it possible to reschedule my interview date with the naples consulate since its close to the dead line.

Just call them up and ask (no one here in the forum can tell you whether they will do that or not)
