DV-2008 Africa numbers

Hey everyone,

I applied as a Kenyan, (although I'm studying in Canada now) and received a NL a few weeks ago. My case number is 2008AF00044xxx, the NL is dated May 2nd 2007... This seems pretty high to me, is there any real chance that I'll get an interview? I'm applying as a CP...

Thanks for the info Yazoo, I've been reading some of the other threads as well so I guess I should have posted in the first DV-2008 Africa thread... I haven't sent in the DS-230 and DSP-122 forms in yet, but I'll do that this week...

Hopefully they'll get thru' the numbers fast this year so we stand a chance of an interview, although it's not looking good at the moment...

Dont worry, for the past years it has been always current for all Africa by september so you may get an interview date

So if my number is AF0044###, does it make a difference if I respond to the NL asap? or simply wait until the gate opens in Oct 2007?

My thinking is that it makes no difference for the "high" numbers, either send the response to NL TODAY or before May 2008, the 2nd package will arrive shortly before the AF35,000+ numbers become current in Aug/Sept

Also, I am pondering about this issue:
If the gate for high numbers opens in Aug/Sep 2008, will there be enough time to do CP (8 weeks window)
