I am DV-2007 Winner from Eritrea. I came to the United States as a student but granted political asylum just few days ago. As you can see I am now basically an asylee. I have not changed my F-1 status yet because I got my asylum just in few days.
Another problem. I do not have my birth certificate at hand. My birth certificate was lost long time ago during the war with Ethiopia.
So how do I adjust my status as an asylee but winning DV-2007 and having the birth certificate issue.
My case is low and it is coming next month. I really appreciate if some on has some thought on this.
It is good news for me but at the same time it has some complications.
