My PD became current on June1. My attorney sent my wife's application to a wrong service center instead of NSC. Since, we did not hear any news on that petition, my Attorney filed a new petition on June 29th that reached NSC on July 2nd after hearing that the USCIS is going to make the numbers unavailable. The first petition got returned back on July 5th. By that time, my attorney was confident that the petition sent on June29th will be rejected based on the updated July visa bulletin and advised me to resend the returned packet to NSC hoping that they would accept it since it was originally received by the wrong service center on June 2nd.
Now, my wife has ended up with 2 I485 applications at NSC. I'm not sure what to do now. Can I just go ahead and cancel the checks for one of the applications or do I need to wait to get receipt notices for both the applications and then request USCIS to withdraw one of them.
