Duplicate EAD Receipts..Expert Advice Needed!!

While filing EAD alongwith I-140/I-485 concurrently, NSC issued duplicate reciepts for EAD (with same A# but different LIN #) in my wife's name, BUT no EAD receipt in my name. Receipts for I-140 and I-485 were issued for me as also the I-485 for my wife.

My lawyer sent them a letter immediately stating the mistake and to resissue the reciept(s). Have not heard back from the lawyer yet.

I am concerned that the longer they sit on this, the later receipt date will be on the EAD receipts. Is there a chance that they will preserve the receipt dates as the application has already been submitted or would they assign a reciept date according to thier own sweet will.

Seniors in this forum, I am asking for your opinion/views on this please..
What do you think NSC is doing on my case?

TIA

PS: It really blows my mind thinking about the bunch of bozos they have working at the NSC

I was hoping to get some opinions on this one from the seniors or anyone else in this forum...

Thanks for the reply...my lawyer had categorically told me not to call the support number as "they get confused" when the lawyer and the applicant both call(as if they are anything less than that already;) ). He said it is better that any following-up be done by him and to use the website for the status. The problem in looking up the status on the website is trying to find the status of two LIN numbers both assigned to my wife!!
Have not heard back from him yet.

I am just hoping that they have not misplaced my application and have just assigned different LIN but with the same name and the applications are being processed individually. I am even thinking should I even have informed NSC becos these morons might assign the receipt date again and in that case I stand to lose an entire month.

That begs a question:

How important is the EAD receipt as a document (other than checking the status)?
For instance, lets say the I-485 receipt is important when you file for AP not alongwith I-485 and at POE when you are travelling abroad. Is the EAD receipt asked as a document anywhere?
I don't give a damn about the EAD receipt as along as I know the application is being processed individually and I know for sure the applications had the correct names (double and triple checked b4 applying).

and btw the processing center is NSC(Nebraska) not VSC.

Thanks
