Hi,
My mother applied for an extension of stay on her B2 visa on Dec. 15, 2005 (10 year Visa – current stay valid thru Feb. 08, 2006). When we checked the USCIS online the case was approved on Jan 12, 2006. But didn’t receive any approval document.
Waited for 2 weeks and called the National Customer Service Centre. They said it would take close to a month for the letter to arrive and asked us to wait thru mid-February and call back. When we did call back, they just took all the information and said they would put in a service request. Now after 3 weeks we get this letter saying we need to fill I-824 with a filing fee of $200.00 to get a duplicate approval notice.
Has this happened to any one before?
And what’s the guarantee that we’ll get a duplicate and not end with this cat-mouse story.
Any help, suggestion is highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Rashmi R.
