My friend and hes family had applied for Canadian PR few years ago, but in the mean time she became US PR, husband arrived in US as derivative Asylee and a child was born in US, hence became USC at birth. Now their Canadian Immigration has also got completed, 'have been issued Canadian PR Visas. They have following scenarios:

1. Principal applicant has US PR and her passport has a valid Canadian PR Visa.
2. Husband of principal applicant has US govt issued Refugee travel document with a valid Canadian tourist visa and his National passport with a canadian PR Visa.
3. Their child has a US Passport with Canadian PR Visa and his US birth certificate.

At this moment my friend does not know that what kinda of benefits she can get from her Canadian PR status, so she is willing to take it before it get expired but she does not want to face any problem with her US status. How should she persue ? Please advice ...

My personal opinion: US PR status is far more valuable than cdn PR. US, being a big brother having the vast job market, they are better off holding on to their american green cards.

The only good thing about cdn PR is free health care. But if your friends have good jobs and/or if they are healthy, no need to pay attention to this cdn "free health care".

If they want to think more on this, they can land and go back to the USA. But eventually, they will have to make the decision since they will not be able to hold on to both PRs at the same time..
