Hello,
I was born in BC (Canada) but have lived in the US most of my life. My
mother is American and currently lives in Idaho. My father is Canadian and
lives in Canada. I moved to Canada when I was 19 and have lived here for the
past three years (and a few months). I want to move back to the States but I
never filed my paperwork that I should of when I was younger (proof of
citizenship certificate). I filed them 3 months ago and have just found out
that I probably won\'t hear anything until January. This is frustrating for
me because I have a girlfriend there and I really want to be with her. If I
go down there to marry her, I won\'t be able to work until we get married
right (unless me application comes through)? Is all the paperwork that I
sent for my Certificate of Citizenship enough to show to the people at the
border to get across and start working now (I have a social security
number)?
Thanks for anything you can tell me as I am very disappointed because I
thought I would be there by now.
