Hi,
This is in regard to my parents petition.
Petition got approved on september 2003.
At present the petition is at NVC.
At NVC affidavit of support is completed and everything is O.K.
The last step is to review the DS 230 Part I.
NVC received DS 230 Part I on December 18, 2003.
Starts Review on December 30, 2003.
Nothing happened yet.
My question is how long does it take them to reveiw the DS 230 Part I form. (AVM says 6-8 Weeks).
Really they take 6-8 weeks to review.
Any feedback is appreciated.

Thanks.

Getting parents to US after my GC

BSingh:

I see that you are in the process of getting GCs for your parents. In this regard I have a question: I will be getting my GC within the next two or three months (hopefully!). After this, what is the best possible (read quickest) way of getting one's parents to the US? Other than, ofcourse, a visitor visa. Can I sponsor them for GCs...if so, how long does it take....what is reqd to qualify for this etc.

If you could throw some light on your personal experience/research it would help.

All:

If you have some info in this regard, please share it with me....

Thanks,

A Green Card holder is not eligible to sponsor his parents or
siblings for an Immigrant Visa. 5 years after becoming a
permanent resident you can apply and become a citizen.

Then you can sponsor your parents for Green card under
family sponsorship. Till then Visitor visa is the only avenue,
unless they are eligible on their own for visa's like H1.
