DS-230 in New Delhi - DOB Certificate and police verification for aged parents

I am a USC and have sponsored my parents in India for green card. They have received DS-230 forms and have been asked for various documents.

My concern is regarding the DOB certificate and police verifications. Both my parents were born before independence and have no record of birth registration. However they have school, college and job related papers with birth dates. I understand that they can file affidavits related to the date of birth from friends and relatives along with a no-record certificate from concerned municipality but my father was born in a very small town and will have to travel a lot to get this document. Is there any alternative? Can the US embassy in New Delhi accept school certificate in lieu of birth registration paper ?

Also there is requirement to file police verification from all locations where they have lived for more than 6 months. My parents have lived in more than 8 locations across the country for more than 6 months each and it will be difficult for them to follow-up with all the concerned departments for the verification. Currently they are living in same location for more than 5 years. Is there any provision for an exception where embassy will accept verification for the last location.

Any information is appreciated.

Don't worry,

They do have tolrance policy for aged parents,

Just you type an affidavit in ms-word from your parents, with some witness names(if avilable) send it to ur parents ask them to sign on it, and other witness.

Police certf they are alredy living 5 yrs, since there, only get the local police certf. don't worry nothing will happen.

remember noone is perfect except God, neither anyone petition, so relax make ur best doc u can. don't try to be 100% perfect.

Good Luck
