DropBox -- for 2nd time visa??

I am planning to invite my parents (64yrs, 56 yrs) to US for the second time. I would appreciate if anybody can clarify following questions for me:

1. They visited US in 1998, got visa for 6 mths and went back within 6 mths.

2. Are they eligible for drop box this time around?
(~~~ consulate site says they have to appear in person if already travelled and if visa is expired in past 2 yrs ~~~~)

3. Now I have filed for I-485.... does that make any difference?

4. Do I have to specify about I-485 on any of the forms?

Any help would be appreciated.
