My in-laws are less than 52 years old. Can they use the drop box facility in chennai. If they can't, do they have to take appt from the consulate? Is the Visa usually issued the same day? Any inputs in this regard is appreciated.
As far as I know they are not qualified for drop box.
No you don't get the visa same day. They will send the passport
through TTS ( you have to pay for DD in advance).
Also last week when looked for appointment the earliest
appointment available was in Mid-March at Chennai consulate.
So, If you are in a hurry then plan to book an appointment
early.
