Hello,

Is is a good idea to get a copy of one's driving record from the DMV to prove to the interviewing officer that you have a clean driving record?

It is normally not required. If you want one, you can certainly get it and take it with you to the interview.

My wife and I will bring our DMV records (from the states where we lived) - just in case. They cost only a few dollar and are easy to obtain. It is one of these things that cannot hurt, I guess. It also a good documentation in case you ever received a traffic citation (also dismissed citations with which you have a 'clean' record although you have to mention the citation)
On top of that we will bring a 5yr IRS transcript - for the same reason; also most likely not needed at all ... and you don't want to present them either if you would not be explicitely asked for it.
