Driver's License : Boston Residents Please Respond

Guys,
Am writing this post on my friends behalf who lives in Boston and whose DL is expiring in August 2003, he is working on EAD which expires in Nov 2003. His H-1B and I-94 expired in April 2003.
He needs to renew his Drivers License, has anyone done this with a Immigration status like him ? Also what docs are required ? Do the DL office raise any objection for not having valid I-94(his expired in April 2003) ? And if the License is renewed, what is its duration-will they renew it for another couple of years or will they make it expire on you EAD/I-94/H-1B expiration date ?

I think I renewed my MA Driver's License last year when I was 485 adjustee and all they did was:

1) took my old license
2) an Eye test
3) renewal Fee

and got it renewed for another 5 yrs. I don't think things might have changed since last july. MA is one of the liberal state and that helps.

go to local dmv website and apply online. you sure get renewed for another 5 years.
