Hi

I am working on EAD (2nd) and is valid till May 5 2004. I do not know when the GC will be approved.

I want to change my Car Licence Plate, Registration and Drivers Licence to PA from NJ. (I have NJ licence valid till 2006)
Currently my Auto Insurance is still tied to NJ address though I live in PA.

Is there anyway I can get the above done in PA? I live in Lansdale PA area. My wife also has not been able to take written test for Drivers Licence because she also has only EAD.

Pl.let me know your experiences

Try to use the original I-485 receipt to get PA driver's license. Another possibility is to show H-1B (H4) extension form, even if you work on EAD card.
Renewal of PA driver's license should be easier - you can do it through PennDOT web page if you use a "pin" program.

Here are a couple of links you can look through:

Hello Edison,

Currently the EAD should be an acceptable document in PA, even though there is no official policy on that. It is up to the discretion of the regional DMV supervisor. They however have some guidelines from Harrisburg. His wife should be eligible for the written test..

so far i know of PA(or any state) you have to have 2 things in common for license
1) SSN or TIn
2) some bills in that person name(for verfying address)
and rest 1 or 2 things are changed from state to state.

PS: I'm in Pa and went of license too
