Is there a dress code when we go for the N-400 interview. I have one today. I have my timelines updated as well. Is it Business Casual or Jeans and shirt ok ?

All the correspondence says "appropriately attired." Not sure what that means but I would assume that one should avoid flip-flops, shorts, t-shirts, maybe even jeans.
I am personally planning on wearing a suit. That's my dress-code at work so not difficult to do for me. I always think that it is better to be overdressed to show you are taking things seriously than to risk leaving a bad first impression.

Maybe some who have gone through the interview process can share their approach and success with it.

Business casual should be fine. Do not do Jeans, shorts, T-shirts, flip-flops, Sandals, Sneakers etc. (although a few others still do).

Any collared shirt and trousers/dockers along with matching shoes and belt should do.

Dress code

Business casual is appropriate.Jeans and shirt is kind of insulting AO.I had my interview earlier in the morning today.I had business casual.

matching shoe and belt..that was funny ;)

The reason I specifically mentioned this is because a few years ago a colleague had come to an important client meeting with a black belt (not the judo one :D) on blue trousers along with brown shoes. For almost the entire meeting all bosses were "picking up" on him for the weird color "mismatch" between his shoe and belt. :)

we have to be afraid of the police, the fbi or what ever, but never the FASHION POLICE !

Never heard of office humor? They could have picked on anything else, and that person would have been scarred for all his life thinking of that incident.

I had interview yesterday. Business casual should be absolutely fine with sports jacket or blazer. No formal. Although some of them came in jeans, T-shirt and hoody & later I saw them taking oath with us in afternoon. Two of them are in buddhist monk dress. So dress code does not matter a lot, at least in Atlanta DO.
