Downturn In The Economy - What does this mean for us ???

Hey guys, I am getting a little worried about the recent economic slowdown. I don\'t know about you guys but many companies are starting to cut back on staffing. Usually the first guys to go are the foreigners.

Any comments ??

That\'s not true. The first guys to go are the people who are less critical to the company. Every company looks at ROI on all the employees. If the return on having an individual is less than the other, axe falls on that guy. Consult people who have seen the early 90\'s downturn.

You are absolutely right. They dont lay u off just because u are a foreigner. If you are consultant, chances are that you may be the first one to go.Again it depends on how critical you are for the company.
